2018 Healthy Youth Survey coming in October
Battle Ground High School will participate in the 2018 Healthy Youth Survey during the week of Oct. 15-19. Washington students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 take the survey every other year.
The Healthy Youth Survey asks questions about risks for injury, health outcomes, and alcohol and drug use. Survey results are used by schools, communities and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous.
Information sheets are available:
- Healthy Youth Survey Q&A for Parents and Students – English
- Healthy Youth Survey Q&A for Parents and Students – Russian
- Healthy Youth Survey Q&A for Parents and Students – Ukrainian
- Healthy Youth Survey Q&A for Parents and Students – Spanish
The survey will be administered during one class period during the week of Oct. 15–19, 2018. A copy of the survey questions is available in your school office for parents to see. Parents can request online or by calling the school by Oct. 8, 2018 that their child be excused from taking the survey.
If you have other questions about the survey, please call Sandy Mathewson, Battle Ground Public Schools’ Director of Social-Emotional Learning, at (360) 885-5456.
The Healthy Youth Survey is a collaborative effort of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Services, and the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board.
