Prairie Set to Perform 'Guys and Dolls'

October 28, 2015

Prairie High School drama is presenting the musical "Guys and Dolls," an oddball romantic comedy set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, beginning Nov. 5.

The production takes the audience from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City as gambler Nathan Detroit tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town. With the authorities breathing down his neck, Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the dough. Meanwhile, Nathan's girlfriend laments that they've been engaged for 14 years, and Sky ends up chasing a straight-laced missionary.
The show runs Nov. 5-7 and 12-14. Performances begin at 7 p.m. at the school, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. Tickets cost $6 for students, $8 for senior citizens, and $12 for adults and are available online at
