Veterans Day Event Recaps
November 17, 2016
Last week, students and staff all across the district held assemblies, musical performances, and panel discussions to recognize and honor those who've served in the United States military.
In addition to the assemblies, students also wrote letters and drew and colored pictures to send to veterans stationed overseas. Pleasant Valley Primary School teacher Breanna Horrocks' first grade class is just one of the many classes that took part, and you can see some photos of her students writing their letters and coloring pictures, along with a collection of shots from various assemblies, in the photos below.
"I want to say THANK YOU for the time and effort that was put into this event," said Army veteran Anthony Nardone, who attended the assembly at Maple Grove. "The students made me feel special and showed me why I’m proud to be a veteran. My grandson and I talked about the assembly after school, and he said it made him proud as well."
Thank you to all of our veterans for your service, and thank you to everyone involved in helping to make our Veterans Day events a success!
