Chimney demolition video, next bricks giveaway
Appearing almost like something out of Jurassic Park, a mechanical "monster" with a plank in its mouth finishes off the chimney at old Central School, which was still standing after the fire on Jan. 21. To see the video and read about the next brick giveaway, click "read more."
This brief video was shot Jan. 22 by Kevin Jolma, director of facilities and operations. We bring this to you at absolutely no extra charge. Click here.
More bricks
There will be another Central School brick giveaway, probably before mid-February. The per-person limit has not been set, but it will be greater than the five bricks per-person allowed Jan. 20 and 21. Donations to the Battle Ground Education Foundation those two days from brick recipients totaled $1,119.85. Thanks to all who contributed. Donations also will be accepted for the next (and presumably final) brick giveaway.
Watch this WEbsite (battlegroundps.org) or call the school distirct office at 885-5300 for updates.
