Volunteering Opportunities
Retirees . . . Housewives and house husbands . . . Working people with occasional school days off or extra time on weekends . . . Have we got a deal for you!
If you’re willing to use a little of your spare time to give back to your community, Battle Ground Public Schools can use you as a volunteer.
Scores of men and women across this sprawling school district devote as little as an hour or two a month to as much as several hours a week working directly with eager-to-learn students in the classroom, but in many other ways, too. For example:
-- With band, drama, drill teams, Science Olympiad squads, etc.
-- At events such as book fairs, school carnivals, open houses, and spaghetti feeds.
-- In the classroom and elsewhere in the school buildings.
Check with the principal or an assistant principal at the school of your choice. For general questions about volunteering or clearance and background checks, contact Trudy Storey at (360) 885-5306 in the school district’s Human Resources office. There is an application to fill out that authorizes the school district to conduct a criminal background check. Click here to download that application, which needs to be completed and delivered to any Battle Ground school.
The pay is zero, but the reward for helping students is . . . priceless.
