Technology Updates

Chromebook Checkout
Students entering grades 5 and 6 can check out a new Chromebook August 25-26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students in these grades who checked out a device in the spring are asked to return those devices. As part of the district’s continued rollout of the 1:1 computing initiative, a new Chromebook will be issued to these students once their older device has been returned. These students will be receiving the devices they will use for the remainder of their time in Battle Ground Public Schools.

This will be a “drive through” pickup at both Battle Ground and Prairie High Schools. All parents/guardians must review and sign the 1:1 Mobile Device Checkout Agreement (Russian) (Spanish). We will have copies available to sign at the checkout stations, but if possible, please bring a signed copy to help streamline the process.

  • Grades 5-6: Drive-thru checkout, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 25 and 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Battle Ground High School’s east entrance/student parking lot or the Prairie High School main entrance.

Students in all other grades (K-4 and 7-12) who do not already have a district-issued Chromebook can check out a device through their school library.

  • Grades K-4, 7-12: curbside pickup on Thursday and Friday, August 27 and 28 at your school. Please watch for details to come from your school.

GoGuardian Parent app
Battle Ground Public Schools has granted you access to GoGuardian Parent, a mobile app to help keep parents/guardians aware of your children’s activity on school-issued devices and provide you with additional controls during out-of-school hours. GoGuardian Parent is a companion to the internet filtering tools that we use for devices issued to students. Through the use of this app, we hope to encourage more open and honest conversations between parents and children that will result in safer practices and responsible browsing habits. Visit the district website for more information and links to a how-to video at

Student accounts unlocked Aug. 26
Student accounts will be reactivated beginning Wednesday, August 26. As in previous years, student accounts are suspended over summer break so that students will not be able to log in to Chromebooks. Accounts are suspended because due to limited summer staffing, the district cannot monitor use during the summer break. If your student cannot remember their password, you can help them retrieve it via Skyward. See this tutorial for where to access this information.
