HIV/STD Prevention Curriculum

In accordance with Washington State law (RCW 28A.230.070), Battle Ground Public Schools offers instruction in HIV/AIDS prevention to all students in grades 5-12 enrolled in health courses. Parents and guardians can review the materials that will be used to teach HIV/STD prevention in these classes, and can opt out their child(ren) from this instruction.

You can review the materials in one of three ways.

High school family health and health classes (Fall semester 2018):

  • Review the high school HIV/STD Prevention curriculum (downloadable PDF document).
  • Review the materials at your child’s school office.
  • Review the materials during the Fall 2018 public review for high school HIV/STD Prevention curriculum on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Maple Grove School in the Media Center from 4 to 7 p.m.

Middle school grades 5-8:

  • Review the curricula below for each grade level (downloadable PDF documents).
  • Review the materials at your child’s school office.
  • Review the materials during the annual public review for grades 5-8 (this event has passed for 2018).
