Technology Access Form + Watch for teacher communication

Dear families of Battle Ground Public Schools,

As we make preparations to deliver a variety of educational supports to continue student learning at home, we want to gather information from our families who do not have access to the Internet or computing devices at home, and let you know that students and primary school families should watch for messages later next week from their teachers.

Students will be contacted by their teachers on or before March 27. Teachers will collect information that will help them as we modify how we deliver instruction.

Modified instructional delivery
In the days after spring break (March 29-April 3), we will begin implementing services and support to continue student learning. While we expect that technology will be leveraged to support student learning, this is not a conversion to “online school.” Our modified instructional delivery system will not replace the quality and personalized learning that happens in our classrooms, but it will provide instruction to help our students retain academic skills. Until this is rolled out, please check out the links we have provided to online Home Learning Resources.

Technology access
While students in grades 6–10 have assigned Chromebooks, students in grades 11–12 and K–5 do not have individual devices. We have created a Technology Access Form for you to fill out and a telephone hotline to call if students do not have reliable Internet service at home and/or need a device for home use. However, please note that completing the online form is the most efficient method of reporting technology access needs. If students need a device and/or Internet access, we will follow-up with you. Our initial priority for providing access to technology resources will be seniors.

Meals and food support
Lunch and breakfast distribution continues weekdays from 11 a.m. to noon at all our primary schools, Amboy Middle and BGHS and PHS.

As a reminder, all school buildings and the district office are closed to drop-in visitors. If you need assistance, please contact the district office at (360) 885-5300.

Thank you for your patience. We are doing our best to provide services that support our families in this new environment.

Take care of yourselves,

Mark Ross, Superintendent
Battle Ground Public Schools
