Pleasant Valley teacher earns top certification

Pleasant Valley Primary’s Marina Heinz recently earned certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. She was recognized at a school board meeting on March 25, 2024.
Heinz is a Battle Ground alum, attending Yacolt Primary and Amboy Middle School before graduating from Battle Ground High School. She was hired in 2005 and began her career at Amboy before moving to Pleasant Valley Primary. With this certification, she joins a group of nearly 50 fellow educators in Battle Ground Public Schools.
This voluntary, advanced credential demonstrates a mastery of best practices in teaching. Candidates must have at least three years of experience and complete a rigorous process to earn certification.
