2023 at-home summer extended learning opportunities

Keep your child’s math and language skills sharp this summer with these free, at-home extended learning options

Available to BGPS students enrolled for the 2022-23 school year

At-home online learning opportunities

All kindergarten through 12th grade students may learn at home by accessing iReady, MyPath, Imagine Learning and/or Newsela. Lexia (K-4th grade) until Aug. 4.

Language arts
Lexia is a reading program available to students in kindergarten through 4th grade. It accelerates students’ reading skills by helping them shift from learning to read to reading to learn. The Lexia program is split into two courses for primary and secondary grade levels. Log in to Lexia on a home device.

Math and language arts
The iReady MyPath program is available to students in fifth through eighth grades and provides personalized instruction based on the student’s skill level and pacing needs. The fun and interactive lessons keep students engaged as they learn. How to log in to iReady.

Math
Math at Home is designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It provides students with activities and games that encourage deep mathematical thinking and confidence in math. The key mathematical concepts align with the Bridges Math curriculum used in Battle Ground Public Schools.

Newsela English Language Arts Acceleration helps students in second through 12th grades access high-interest, quality nonfiction reading materials that are aligned to their reading level. Assigned articles include activities designed to measure reading comprehension and then guide students on ways to improve. How to access the Newsela program online.

Support for multilingual learners

Multilingual learners are invited to attend summer school. They are also given access to the Imagine Learning English program to continue learning English over the summer.

Technology

All student Google accounts will remain active through Aug. 10. Chromebooks (kindergarten through fifth grade) and hotspots may be checked out from the student help desk for use during the summer (see sidebar for hours).
