Why we’re considering these resources
Input from students, parents/guardians and staff members has pointed to the need for schools to teach character education and a variety of life skills, including kindness, respect, communication, collaboration, self-confidence, adaptability and more. Mental health and suicide prevention also are important issues for our community. Battle Ground already approved social and emotional curriculum for primary and middle school students 2023. If approved by the school board, the high school curriculum would help continue the work started at the primary and middle school levels.
