Foster Care Program
Support for families with foster care students
Battle Ground Public Schools is dedicated to helping students in foster care feel supported and succeed in school. We make sure students can start school right away, stay in their school of origin when possible, and get the academic and social-emotional supports they need. These efforts connect to our district’s Strategic Plan goals of providing high-quality instruction and building trust through strong partnerships with families, social workers and community agencies.
Students currently in foster care receive:
Coordination with DSHS (Department of Social and Health Services)
Free lunch and breakfast, if offered to other students
Transportation to their school of origin
If you need help, please reach out to your school counselor, who also serves as the Foster Care Building Point of Contact. They can assist with enrollment, transportation, and connections to resources. Our Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) is also available to help with basic needs, referrals, and services.
