Native American students enrolled in Battle Ground Public Schools who are academically at-risk are eligible to receive supplemental instructional support services through Title III. Twice yearly, multilingual teachers review data to determine if a Native American student is:

• Not meeting standards on state assessments

• Below grade level on district assessments

• Below-average grades in core subjects

If data shows that a Native American student is academically at risk, the parents/guardians are informed by the Multilingual Learner Education Department that the student is potentially eligible for language development services through Title III. With parent permission, the student will be tested with the WIDA Screener to determine whether they qualify for English language development services. Parents/guardians are notified of their child's screener outcome and what supplement supports are available.
