Special meeting/work session

The special meeting/work session started at 4 p.m. Clark County Assessor Peter Van Nortwick and Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper presented to the board about local levy rates, collection and fund distribution. Then Educational Service District 112 Superintendent Tim Merlino and Assistant Superintendent Gavin Hottman spoke to the board about financial binding conditions and receivership. The session ended with a discussion about potential levy amount options. The board did not take any formal action on any of the options. District staff will make revisions to the options for future board consideration.

Regular meeting

The regular meeting began at 6 p.m. and included:

• Agenda approval

• Oath of office for new student representative Addison Juhnke

• Student voice

• Committee and director reports

• Citizens' comments

• Superintendent and staff updates

• Approval of the consent agenda

• No old business

• The board voted unanimously to approve the following new business items.

  • Three new high school math courses

  • Contract with Union Corner Construction for Futures project sitework. The work will be funded through impact fees.

  • Resolution G-26 rejecting all construction trades building project bids and calling to rebid project

• Future agenda items and board events

• Executive session: The board entered an executive session at 7:33 p.m. for the evaluation of the superintendent. The session adjourned at 8:20 p.m. and no action followed.
