News to know

Full 2026-27 school year calendar now available
Next year’s school calendar, including late starts and waiver days, has been approved. Download a printable calendar.

Lunches for students during the summer
Kids ages 18 and under can eat lunch during the summer at no cost additional to their families. Lunches will be available from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at CAM Academy. Meals must be consumed onsite. See the summer menu. Lunches will be available Monday through Friday through Aug. 20 (except for July 1-3).

Update on SUN Bucks
This year, Washington families may be able to receive $120 per eligible child to purchase groceries during the summer months through the SUN Bucks program. Benefits are loaded onto SUN Bucks cards for each eligible child and mailed to the family’s home. The Washington state Department of Social and Health Services has notified school districts of a delay in the delivery of SUN Bucks cards. Families can call 833-543-3230 to learn whether a student’s benefit has been approved and if a card has been mailed. They can also sign up for text alerts to get updates on the status of their benefits and card.

District receives clean audits
After reviewing Battle Ground Public Schools' finances and operations for approximately 425 hours, the Washington State Auditor's Office has issued clean reports for the district's accountability, financial statement and federal audits of activity between September 2024 and August 2025.

The audits found that Battle Ground Public Schools complied with applicable laws, regulations and district policies in the areas reviewed and maintained appropriate controls to safeguard public resources. Learn more.

Report cards
Second semester report cards and individualized education program progress reports (if applicable) will be available to view in Skyward by June 17. Please watch for an email with instructions on accessing your child’s information.

Individual state test results
State test results are now available for most students who took state assessments in spring 2026. Students in grades 3-8 and 10 took English language arts and math assessments. You can view your child’s score by logging into Skyward. Get step-by-step instructions on finding your child’s score. Science scores will be available in August.

School board meeting recap
The Battle Ground Public Schools board of directors met on Monday, June 8, for a regular meeting. See a video and summary. During the regular meeting, the board voted to approve the following:

  • Addison Juhnke from Prairie High School was selected to join the board as its new student representative. Hailee Natiola was designated the alternate rep. Next year, Addison will serve alongside student representative Toby Nguyen from CAM Academy. She will replace Itzel Contreras-Montiel, who graduated from Prairie earlier in June. Congratulations, Addison!

  • Pacific Office Automation copier lease: This new lease for copier equipment will result in a $130,000 savings for the district over five years.

  • New Instructional Materials Committee member: Rachel Cristaudo was selected to join the committee through spring 2028.

  • Contract for demolition of the 450 building and a small modular building used for storage. This will make room for the new Futures building and construction trades building. The work is funded through impact fees and a capital levy approved by voters in 2024.

The board will meet next on Monday, June 22, for a special meeting/work session at 4 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public at the Lewisville campus and streaming online.

Athletic program updates for the 2026-27 school year
Because the district does not receive any state funding that is specifically designated for athletics, some athletic programs may be affected by the loss of levy funding. The impacted sports have a cost to rent or access facilities that the district does not own. These sports include boys and girls golf, gymnastics, boys and girls swimming and bowling. Learn more about the participation and donation needs for the district to offer these sports next year.

Summer hours

  • Primary and middle school offices will be closed to the public after June 18. High school offices will be closed to the public after June 25.

  • The district office will be closed to the public June 29 through July 24.

  • The Family and Community Resource Center will be closed June 11 through Aug. 31.

  • Visit the school and district hours webpage for details.

In case you missed it
