Battle Ground Public Schools, Battle Ground Education Association negotiating new contract

Since January 2023, Battle Ground Public Schools has engaged in collective bargaining with the Battle Ground Education Association, which represents the district’s classroom teachers and more certificated professionals. The current BGEA contract expires Aug. 31, 2023.

Our latest proposal would decrease caseloads and increase compensation by 16.5% over the next three years, including improvements in pay for additional duties (time, responsibility and incentive).

Our board of directors and leadership team are committed to bargaining in good faith to provide staff with wages and benefits that are comparable to surrounding districts and within the capacity of the district’s budget.

We are hopeful that we will soon reach an agreement with BGEA. The next bargaining sessions are scheduled for Aug. 25, 26 and 27. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.
