COVID-19 TESTING CENTER

The testing center on the Lewisville campus is open for COVID-19 testing from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on school days. Currently, both PCR and rapid antigen tests are available. Please pre-register using the information below to help expedite the process.

PLEASE NOTE: The testing center is considered a healthcare setting. Masks are required to be worn on site.

Who can get tested?

Battle Ground Public Schools offers COVID-19 testing to students and staff who are symptomatic or may have been a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. All others should seek testing through their medical provider or at another testing location.

Testing may reduce the number of school days that symptomatic and positive students would have to miss. A negative test result could enable these students to shorten their quarantine/isolation period and return to school sooner. See the Department of Health COVID-19 Decision Tree or talk with your healthcare provider or school nurse for more information.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-ins are welcome during testing hours: 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on school days, Monday–Friday.

How much does it cost?

Testing is free for Battle Ground Public Schools students and staff who are symptomatic or a close contact of a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19. The district is participating in a state program that provides the tests to schools.

What test do you offer?

We offer two types of tests, depending on availability.

Antigen tests, also called rapid diagnostic tests, detect specific proteins on the surface of the coronavirus. Antigen test results may come back in as little as 15 minutes.

PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests take 24-72 hours to get results; however, they remain the gold standard for detecting an active COVID-19 infection. With a PCR test, a sample taken with a nasal swab is analyzed to see if it contains genetic material from the virus.

Both tests can shorten the quarantine/isolation period of symptomatic students, as long as the test is taken on or after Day 5. If the result is negative, symptomatic students can return to school on Day 6 as long as symptoms are improved and the student has been fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours.

How long does it take to get results?

Antigen test results require as little as 15 minutes. It could take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to get results of a PCR test.
