Information about bargaining with the Battle Ground Education Association

As you may know, Battle Ground Public Schools is currently engaged in collective bargaining with the Battle Ground Education Association, which represents the district’s classroom teachers and more certificated professionals. The current BGEA contract expires Aug. 31, 2023.
This process may raise questions about the possibility of a work stoppage/strike. As of Aug. 24, we have not been notified that BGEA members have taken an official vote to authorize a work stoppage/strike.
We will continue to provide information as it becomes available and let you know if there are any changes that could affect school schedules. In the meantime, please visit the collective bargaining webpage for the latest updates.
Our board of directors and leadership team will continue bargaining in good faith to provide staff with wages and benefits that are comparable to surrounding districts and within the capacity of the district’s budget.
We are hopeful that we will soon reach an agreement with BGEA. The next bargaining sessions are scheduled for Aug. 25, 26 and 27. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

Como ya sabrán, las Escuelas Públicas de Battle Ground están presentemente participando en negociaciones colectivas con la Asociación de Educación de Battle Ground, quien representa a los maestros del distrito y a más profesionales certificados. El contrato presente de BGEA se vence el 31 de agosto de 2023.
Este proceso puede generar dudas sobre la posibilidad de un paro/huelga laboral. Hasta hoy 24 de agosto, no se nos ha notificado que los miembros de BGEA hayan realizado un voto oficial para autorizar un paro/huelga laboral.
